StarBox at the Sidemen Charity Match 2025

On 8th March, StarBox had the privilege of attending the much-anticipated Sidemen FC charity match at Wembley Stadium, where the YouTube Allstars triumphed over Sidemen FC in a dramatic penalty shootout after a 9-9 draw. The event, which raised an astounding £4,733,004 for various charities, including BBC Children in Need, was an amazing experience for our team.

As the accountants and business advisers for many of the creators featured in the match, including the Sidemen, Deji,  and ChrisMD, we couldn’t have been more excited to see the incredible event firsthand. A group of 18 StarBox staff members travelled up to Wembley to show our support for our clients. Although we got stuck in traffic on the way up, it didn’t dampen our spirits. We spent the journey chatting and getting more excited for the match.

Arriving at Wembley stadium

When we arrived at the stadium, the atmosphere was energetic. The game itself was nothing short of thrilling. The Sidemen, a group of seven talented and incredibly popular creators, including boxers, musicians, and YouTubers, gave it their all against the YouTube Allstars.

The halftime show added an extra layer of excitement, with performances from rapper AJ Tracey and, of course, KSI himself, who performed his track Thick Of It. The score was tied 4-4 at halftime, and the action continued to be intense until the final whistle. It all came down to penalties after a 9-9 result, where the YouTube Allstars ultimately clinched the win from Speed doing his famous backflip in celebration.

Wembley walk-through

Our team were seated in the same area as the Wembley walk-through, meaning we were fortunate enough to have a great viewpoint to watch some of the biggest names in the industry, with many of them walking past us on their way up from the pitch to the trophy. It was amazing to see creators like MrBeast, Logan Paul, Speed and others up close, and several even took the time to high-five our staff as they made their way up through the crowd.

History in the making

The match raised almost double the amount raised at last year’s charity event at West Ham’s London Stadium, where £2m was raised for similar causes. The event benefited multiple charities, including Children in Need. There was a real buzz and it was amazing to see the power that YouTube creators have to bring such a large-scale event together.

Changing the creator landscape

As accountants and business advisers for some of the biggest names in the industry, it’s rewarding to see them not only excel in their craft but also give back to the community. We’re proud to support clients like KSI, Miniminter, Zerka, Callux, Vikkstar, and Randolph, all of whom have made a lasting impact on the YouTube landscape.

We can’t wait to see what’s next for the Sidemen and all the creators involved, and we’re grateful to have been part of such a special day.
